Ethel M. Hudson, 91, formerly of Galbreath Avenue, passed away the morning of Sept. 30, 2017, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Born on May 9, 1926, in New Castle, she was the daughter of John and Susan Bara Koch. On Nov. 22, 1945, she married her beloved husband, Kenneth Hudson Jr., and the two of them spent 56 years together until he preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2002.
In her early years, Ethel had worked as a sales clerk for Richman Brothers. She was a member of Independent Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Ethel is survived by her children, Miriam Palumbo and husband Frank of New Castle, Kenneth J. Hudson and wife Shelley of Ellwood City, Pa., Connie Mariacher and husband George of New Castle, and Robin Finamore and husband David of New Castle; sister, Helen Fullerton of New Castle; grandchildren, Alyssa Pyer and Jim, Frank A. Palumbo, Kenneth J. Hudson Jr. and Brittany, Kylie Hall and John, Shannon Finamore, Danielle Finamore, Aaryn Mariacher and Lisa, and Zach Mariacher; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S Mill St. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Frederick Gilbert.
Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
