Frances Mary Collins, 92, formerly of Smithfield Street, passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, at Avalon Nursing Home.
Born on Aug. 1, 1924, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Steve and Mary Remus Koss.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Collins, who passed away on Oct. 25, 1991.
Frances retired as an instructor and bookkeeper for Lark Workshop. A member of the Washington Union Alliance Church, where she sang in the church choir.
Frances was a very artistic person who loved to paint.
She also enjoyed playing bingo and reading.
Frances is survived by her sister, Evelyn Koss of New Castle; and her goddaughter, Denise DelPrincipe of New Castle.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Collins; and her brothers, Steve and Frank Koss.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Richard Nobel.
Interment will take place in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
