Frances Gill, 91, of New Castle passed away the morning of Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born on June 2, 1925, in Dawson, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late William U. and Elizabeth Kelly Keller.
On June 5, 1948, she married her beloved husband, W. Frank Gill, and the two spent more than 61 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2010.
In her earlier years, Frances worked as an elementary teacher.
A devoted member of Third Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed singing in the church choir. Frances also enjoyed playing piano and, in earlier years, volunteering as a den mother for the Cub Scouts.
Frances is survived by her sons, Jack Gill and his wife, Charlene, and Jeffrey Gill, all of New Castle; her sister, Jean Ellis of Eagleville, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Erin and Cary; and her great-grandchildren, Cameron and Kerrigan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Edna Ruth Husband.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Services will be conducted at noon Monday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Dennis Bupp.
Interment will take place in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
