Frances W. Malley, 89, formerly of Bessemer, passed away the evening of Monday, May 22, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia of Cabot, Pennsylvania.
Born on Dec. 2, 1927, in Volant, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Nellie Yakela.
On Sept. 11, 1954, she married her beloved husband, Louis A. Malley Jr., and the two of them spent 48 years together until he preceded her in death in 2002.
Frances worked as a decorator for Shenango China from 1947 to 1967, and she later worked as a sales clerk for Sears Department Store.
A member of the former St. Anthony Church, Frances was a member of the Ladies Guild at the church. She was known for her homemade cooking and baking, especially her pies. Frances will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family.
Frances is survived by her children, Bob Malley and his wife, Monica, of Allison Park, Pennsylvania, and Gary Malley of Butler; and her grandchildren, Dana, Kevin, Madison and Michael Malley.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Yakela; and her sister, Laura Ellena.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Friday to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. at St. Vitus Church, conducted by the Rev. Michael Peck.
Interment will take place in St. Vitus Cemetery.
