Former New Wilmington resident Gloria R. Ballish, 88, of Palm Harbor, Fla., passed away the morning of March 24, 2017, at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, Fla.
Born on June 3, 1928, in Scottdale, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John Vincent Maglieri and Edith Margaret Navoney Maglieri-Reda. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, John Bernard Ballish.
Gloria had worked as a caregiver for the hospice of St. Francis Hospital and had worked with the Better Living Program for First Western Bank. In her earlier years, she enjoyed modeling. For many years, Gloria was involved in politics on the state and federal level.
Gloria is survived by her children, Linda Ann McKee of Palm Harbor, Fla., John Allen Ballish of Pittsburgh and Christopher Michael Ballish of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; grandchildren, Shawna Marie, Aaron Christopher and Brooke Ann; and great-grandchild, Jaxon. In addition to her parents and former husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Vincent Maglieri.
Honoring her wishes, there are no calling hours, and services are private.
Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum.
