Grace M. Baldwin Bovard, 96, of New Castle passed away the morning of Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Born in New Castle on Jan. 7, 1921, she was a daughter of Ambrose U. and Myrtle Smith Adams.
She was married to Roy L. Baldwin Sr., who passed away in 1961. Then on Oct. 23, 1993, she married John J. Bovard, who preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2008.
She attended New Castle High School and New Castle School of Beauty Culture.
She was employed at JC Penney's and then became the owner of Dolly's Beauty Salon.
Besides cooking, her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a charter member of First Alliance Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra M. (Robert) Bupp of Beaver Falls; a son, Roy L. (Bonnie) Baldwin Jr. of New Castle; five grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; eight sisters; and four brothers.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Roy Baldwin III and the Rev. Philip Harrison officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery
