Gregory T. Crans, 68, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Born on Oct. 9, 1948, in Ellwood City, he was a son of the late Arwood Sr. and Lillian Tavern Crans.
Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 46 wonderful years, the former Linda Foreman, whom he married on Jan. 23, 1971.
After more than 30 years of working, Gregory retired as a plant repairman for Cemex (formerly Medusa Cement Corporation).
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
In his earlier years, Gregory coached youth baseball. He will always be remembered as a dependable, honest and hard-working man, who cherished spending time with his family above everything else.
In addition to his wife, Gregory is survived by his sons, Michael Crans and Matthew Crans and his wife, Danielle, all of Columbus, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Benjamin and Amelia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant grandson, Madden; and his brother, Arwood Crans Jr.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Services will be conducted at noon Monday at DeCarbo's, officiated by Pastor John Yergan of First Baptist Church.
Interment will take place in Slippery Rock Presbyterian Cemetery.
