Harry B. Caravaggio Jr., 79, of New Castle passed away the evening of Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born on Aug. 31, 1938, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Harry and Jenny Colantino Caravaggio.
Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 53 years, the former Anna Conte, whom he married on Aug. 8, 1964.
In his earlier years, Harry had worked as a barber, and he later worked for City Welding. Harry then retired as youth development aide for YDC after more than 15 years of working.
He also served his country as a member of the Army from 1961 to 1963.
Harry enjoyed playing morra, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by his children, Harry Caravaggio III and wife, Kay, of Sewickley and Marc Caravaggio and wife, Renee, of New Castle; sister, Rosemary Tarnoci and husband, Robert, of New Castle; and granddaughter, Spencer.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Vitus Church, officiated by the Rev. William Siple.
Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites Tuesday morning at the mausoleum.
