Ilona May Skuta, 91, of New Castle passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, in Wisconsin.
Born on May 16, 1925 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Paul and Esther Gyori Toth.
She was preceded in death in 2004 by her husband, John Skuta, whom she married in 1947.
A homemaker, Ilona enjoyed birdwatching, baking, crafts and growing African violets.
She loved telling stories in Hungarian to her grandchildren.
She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three sons, John (Sammie) Skuta and Paul Skuta, both of New Castle, and Jerry (Dee) Skuta of Wisconsin; a brother, Oscar Toth of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, John Frank (Kelly S.) Skuta and Lorraine R. Skuta; two great-grandchildren, Dillon Skuta and Noah Skuta; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and seven brothers.
In keeping with Ilona's wishes, there will be no public visitation or service.
A private family graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
