James H. Beach, 84, of 318 Rhodes Place, New Castle, passed away the morning of Friday, June 23, 2017, at Rhodes Estates.
James was born on July 28, 1932, in New Castle. He was a son of the late James and Rose Beach.
He was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1950.
Mr. Beach worked at the former Radiator Company. He also worked as a heavy equipment bulldozer operator.
James enlisted in the Army on Jan. 29, 1953, in Pittsburgh. Mr. Beach served his country during the Korean War. James was a member of Company M 31st Infantry Regiment. He earned the rank of Private First Class. James earned many decorations and citations, among them where the National Defenses Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars, and the United Nations Service Medal. Mr. Beach was honorably discharged on Nov. 30, 1954, in Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Leon Beach; and his sister, Elizabeth Askew.
A military service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Noga Funeral Home. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform full military honors for James at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
