James Lusk Ligo, 86, of Valley View Drive, New Wilmington, died at UPMC Jameson on Sunday morning, April 9, 2017
Jim was born in New Castle on Dec. 19, 1930, to the late Ray Edwin and Gertrude Viola Lusk Ligo. He married C. Jeanne Stafford on Sept. 2, 1954.
Jim was a 1949 graduate from Wilmington High.
Jim was an avid worker and helped with the Cub Scouts and Little League programs. He was a member of Neshannock Presbyterian Church, New Wilmington.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne, at the residence; two daughters, Patti Sue Ligo of New Castle and Jodi (Brian) Kelly of Pulaski; four sons, John A. Ligo and Dean James (Susan) Ligo of New Wilmington, Alan Ray (Patrice) Ligo of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Mark Thomas (Brook) Ligo of New Castle; eight grandchildren, Joshua (Nicole), Adam, Alexis and Jessi Ligo, Kyle (Kaitlin) Kelly, Hailey Kelly, and Shelby and Tucker Ligo; and a great-granddaughter, Payton Ligo.
Jim is preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Ligo and Tom Ligo.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. William H. Stone Jr., pastor of Neshannock Presbyterian Church, New Wilmington, officiating.
Interment will be at White Chapel Cemetery, Wilmington Township.
