Joan M. Brommer, 70, of Meadville, formerly of New Castle, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, Ohio, following an illness.
Born on Dec. 29, 1946, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Margaret Jeanette Scott Porada.
She was married on June 24, 1978, to Donald E. Brommer, who passed away on April 26, 2016.
Joan enjoyed gardening and canning her vegetables. She also enjoyed camping and fishing. Her most cherished time was spent with her late husband and their family, especially their grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Carl (Kathy) Brommer of Meadville, Donald (Jody) Brommer of New Castle and Dan (Kim) Hodge of Tionesta, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Danielle (Mike) Cross of Orwell, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister, Mary Bowers.
A celebration of Joan's life will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at the Maitland Lane Free Methodist Church with Pastor John Fraser officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
