Joseph "Duck" Lupo, 63, of New Middletown, Ohio, and lifelong Cleveland area resident, passed away on Thursdat, Sept. 14, 2017, at the Beeghly Oaks Care Center.
Joseph was born on April 12, 1954, a son of the late Paul and Angeline Mariotte Lupo.
Joseph grew up in Hillsville and graduated from high school, then earned his vocational degree in auto mechanics.
He married the former Cheryl Nugent in 1982, and she passed away in 1990, leaving Joseph a widower.
Joseph had held the position of manager at several Cleveland area auto parts stores, such as O'Reillys, NAPA and Murray's.
He had also been the co-operator of the former St Lucy's Club in Hillsville and was a dedicated Cleveland sports fan following the Indians, Cavaliers and Browns. Joseph also had a passion for food and cooking.
Joseph was known to be a kind and gentle loving soul and will be greatly missed by his sister, Angela Scofinsky and her husband, Al, of Bessemer; his brother, Paul Lupo and his wife, Loretta, of Florida; his niece, Paulette Benegasi of Bessemer; his nephews, Jeffery and Brian Kester of Ohio; and several great-nieces and great-nephews
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Cheryl, and niece, Bernadette
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home at 203 Oak St., Bessemer.
At 1 p.m., a blessing service will be held for Joseph and he will be laid to rest in the Poland Riverside Cemetery.
