Josephine R. Jaworowski, 95, of Jameson Care Center, formerly of 2409 E. Ridgewood Court, passed away the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Josephine was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Czestochowa, Poland. She was a daughter of the late Adam and Rose Kudrewicz Uminski.
Josephine was married to Bernard Jaworowski. They were married for 60 wonderful years. He preceded her in death Feb. 7, 2002.
She was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School, class of 1939. Josephine continued her education graduating in Pittsburgh at the Commercial Institute of Business Administration in 1940.
Mrs. Jaworowski will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Josephine retired after 28 years as a machine operator at Waldman's Meats.
She enjoyed doing crafts, gardening and raising flowers of all kinds, especially roses. Josephine belonged to the Willlowbrook Garden Club.
She is survived by her son, Bernard (Barbara) Jaworowski Jr. of New Castle; two grandchildren, Bernard A. Jaworowski Jr. of New Castle and Erin J. (Bradley) Booher of New Castle; four great-grandchildren, Braden, Bronson, Brenton and Jordan Jaworowski; and a great-great-granddaughter, Aubrey Booher.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bernard, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Thomas D. Jaworowski; and her sister, Anne Wieczorkowski.
Following Josephine's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A Blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Noga Funeral Home. The Rev. Fredrick Gilbert, pastor of Independent Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in SS. Philip and James Cemetery.
