Judith A. Jackson Hoye, 75, of Mercer, passed away peacefully with her dear friend Eldena by her side on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 4:24 p.m. at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler, Pa., after a brief illness.
She was born in Farrell, Pa., on April 6, 1942, to Robert and Mary Jackson.
Judy married David C. Hoye on Aug. 4, 1979. He died on Feb. 27, 2017.
Mrs. Hoye attended Trumball Memorial Nursing Program after high school and then spent most of her life as a homemaker.
Judy was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she was actively involved with church luncheons. She was community volunteer who enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, baking, card making and traveling many winters to New Smyrna Beach, Fla., with her husband.
Mrs. Hoye is survived by one son, Matthew A. Hoye, and his wife, Melissa, in Beaver Falls, Pa.; and one grandson, Henry Hoye. She is also survived by her husband's family: Bob and Vivian Hoye in New Wilmington, Pa.; Thomas and Rebecca Hoye in St. Paul, Minn.; and William and Shelley Hoye Morgenstern in North Canton, Ohio.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A funeral service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 110 E. Market St., Mercer, Pa. 16137 on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 3 p.m. with Dr. William P. Crooks officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 2 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Mercer Citizens Cemetery, Mercer, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to David Hoye Scholarship Fund, in care of Delta Zahniser, Box 13, Jackson Center, Pa. 16133 or a charity of donor's choice.
