Karen M. Jacob, 68, of Oakton, Virginia, died on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, after a long illness.
Karen was born on May 31, 1948, in New Castle to the late Francis and Virginia Brincko Jacob.
She graduated in 1969 from St. Francis Nursing School as a registered nurse and spent most of her career as a pediatric nurse at INOVA Fairfax Children's Hospital.
Karen loved traveling, meeting people, learning new things, trying new foods, reading and being an aunt.
She is survived by six siblings, Timothy Jacob of West Hurley, New York, Barbara Kemp of Alexandria, Virginia, Nancy Best of Salvisa, Kentucky, Marian Jacob of Youngstown, Ohio, Thomas Jacob of New Castle and Anne Jacob of Oakton, Virginia; a sister-in-law, Diane Coury Jacob; a brother-in-law, Jeff Kemp; and nieces Ginny and Corrie Jacob, who were the light in her life.
A memorial service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna, Virginia.
