On May 5, 2017, at 8:01 a.m., Mary "Sue" Anderson of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away peacefully at the age of 87. Mary was born Aug. 15, 1929, in New Castle, Pa., to Harry A. and Edith Mazzio Passerrello. She was the eldest of five children.
In her school days at New Castle High School, class of 1947, she was referred to as "Sweet Sue," a well-deserved nickname for her kind and considerate nature. After high school, Sue worked as a telephone operator at Pennsylvania Bell Telephone for many years before meeting her husband, James Anderson. They were married Aug. 31, 1957, and Sue soon became a mother and housewife. She moved often with her husband's career progression plus travelled in the U.S. and worldwide throughout her life. Sue was an avid tennis player, enjoyed regular visits to the YMCA, participating in the Newcomers Club, and was a local hospital volunteer. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Brad Anderson of The Woodlands, Texas, and Greg Anderson (Traci) of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Sofia, Lena, Audrey and Ben; one sister, Marcillene Sparano; two brothers, Gerald Passerello and Harry Passerrello (Patricia); and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Fred Passerrello.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place May 12, 2017, at 11a.m. in St. Vitus Catholic Church, 910 S. Mercer St., New Castle, Pa., with Rev. William Siple officiating. Friends may sign guest book at www.flynnfuneralhome.com.
No visitation will be held.
Burial will be in America's Cemetery, Hermitage, Pa.
