Mary's Story

Mary Lou Anzalone, 82, of New Castle passed away the morning of Feb. 12, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born on June 9, 1934, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Dorothy Bowden Trimble. Surviving at home is her beloved husband of 64 years, Richard J. Anzalone Sr., whom she married on Feb. 17, 1953.
A graduate of Shenango High School, Mary had worked as a head cook for many local restaurants before retiring from Starwood Restaurant. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 315, where she served as a past president. Mary also was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. She loved bowling, camping, fishing and visiting casinos. Known as Mama Lou and Grandma Red, Mary will be remembered for doing things for her family and touching the lives of other people.
In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her children, Richard J. Anzalone Jr. and wife Judy of Inverness, Fla., Kate Jaworsky and Tina Marshall and husband Bill, all of New Castle; sister, Carol Reno and husband Albert of New Castle; sister-in-law, Goldie Trimble of New Castle; grandchildren, Richard J. Anzalone III and wife Melissa, Jason Anzalone and wife Marcy, Michele Miller and husband Blaine, Heather Anzalone Jenkins and husband Char, Billie Jo Marshall, Anthony Rubeis and wife Stacey, Randy Rubeis, and Eric Jaworksy; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert J. Anzalone; brother, Robert L. Trimble; sister, Dorothy Trimble DeMatteo; and son-in-law, Jeff Jaworsky.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave DeCarbo's on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church, officiated by Father William Siple.
Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
