Mary Joan Pavlich, 96, of New Castle passed away the morning of Saturday, May 6, 2017, at her residence.
Ms. Pavlich was born on Sept. 29, 1920, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Fabian and Mary Katkish Pavlich.
Mary was a lifelong area resident and a 1938 graduate of Shenango High School. Following graduation, she then matriculated to Duquesne University where she earned a bachelor's of science degree.
Mary retired from the product testing department of the Merck Corp., where she was employed for many years.
She was a devout member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, St. Mary's Church.
Mary will be remembered for being a very kind, loving and compassionate person.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Albert Pavlich.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A graveside blessing service and rite of committal will be held at noon Thursday at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 2305 Wilmington, New Castle, Pa. 16105, with the Rev. Frank Almade, pastor of St. Mary's Church, officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
