Michael's Story

Michael L. Biasucci Sr., 97, of New Castle passed away the morning of Monday, June 26, 2017, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Born on Nov. 29, 1919, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Sam and Anna Pagley Biasucci.
On Oct. 12, 1944, he married his beloved wife, the former Rose M. DiDiano, and the two of them spent more than 60 years together until she preceded him in death on June 17, 2004.
Michael worked as a case worker for the Unemployment Office for the State of Pennsylvania. He never missed a single day of work in his 40 years of working there through to his retirement on June 30, 1983.
A very devout Catholic, he was a devoted member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish.
Michael was an avid reader and a 50-year registered voter. He also remodeled the entire inside of his home, enjoyed tinkering and his car.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Christine A. Biasucci of New Castle; his brothers, Sam B. Biasucci and his wife, Joan, of New Castle and Joe A. Biasucci and his wife, Joan, of Lee, New Hampshire; his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Biasucci of Beaver; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sons, Robert M. "Bobby" Biasucci and Michael L. Biasucci Jr.; his sister, Maryann Davis; and his brother, Charles Biasucci.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Friday to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, officiated by the Rev. William Siple.
Interment will take place in St. Vitus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Michael's honor to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205; the American Heart Association 840 Southwestern Run, Youngstown, OH 44514; and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
