Patricia's Story

Patricia Bizub, 82, of New Bedford passed away the afternoon of Saturday, July 1, 2017, at her residence.
Born on Dec. 25, 1934, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret Denny Slaven.
On June 5, 1954, she married her beloved husband, Edward L. Bizub, and the two spent more than 57 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2011.
Patricia graduated from Union Area High School where she met her husband at a school dance.
She was a lifelong member of St. James the Apostle Church.
Patricia had worked for Wilmington Area School District, the Villa Maria Convent and the Youngstown Vindicator before retiring.
She then enjoyed traveling, dancing and spending time with her family and friends. Patricia also was active with the Paws and Taws Square Dance Club.
Patricia is survived by her children, Judith Smith and her husband, Kelly, of New Bedford, Pennsylvania, Audrey Augustine and her husband, Robert, of Edinburg, Mary Elias and her husband, Thomas, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Bizub and his wife, Diana, of Cleveland, Ohio, Patrick Bizub and his wife, Olga, of Gainsville, Florida, and Matthew Bizub and his wife, Donna, of Perrysville, Ohio; her grandchildren, Chris, Marc, Aimee, Alison, J.D., and Rose; and her great-granddaughter, Emily.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gayle Hetrick; and her sister, Margaret (Peggy) LaGrow.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon John Carran.
Interment will take place in St. James Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patricia's honor to Heartland Hospice, 3871 State St., Hermitage, PA 16148.
