Beloved husband, father and grandfather Robert F. "Bob" Craig, 90, of McCandless Township passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
Born in Atlanta, Robert was a son of the late Cleo and Laura Heck Craig and grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
Bob graduated from Ridgewood High School and received a bachelor's and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Dartmouth College.
He served in the V-12 Naval College Training Program and in the Navy Reserves for 10 years.
Robert married the love of his life, Mary McCarthy, on April 21, 1951, in Philadelphia and enjoyed more than 50 years of marriage.
Robert worked in a managerial capacity for Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania for almost 40 years in Philadelphia, New Castle and Pittsburgh.
As a devout man of faith, Bob was deeply committed to serving both his church, Saint Alexis, and his community through being a delivery person for Meals on Wheels, a Republican committeeman for McCandless Township, an active performer with the Spotlight Players, and an actor in community theatre. Selected as an All-American soccer player at Dartmouth College, Bob enjoyed athletics all his life.
For many years, he belonged to a tennis club and was an active golfer. He also enjoyed being a sports fan and nothing made him happier than rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers or the many teams of his children or grandchildren.
In his free time, Bob enjoyed bridge, reading, learning and was never very far from a crossword puzzle!

Craig and his wife, Betsy, of Grove City and Stephen Craig and his wife, Faith, of Neshannock Township; his two daughters, Susan Gannon and her husband, Jack, of Naperville, Illinois, and Anne Brasile and her husband, Joe, of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania; along with seven grandchildren, Gordon Craig, Kathleen Gannon, Michael Gannon, Mary Allison Brasile, Christopher Brasile, Madeleine Craig and Sam Craig.
