Robert's Story

Robert C. Lepore, 87, of Mahoningtown passed away the afternoon of Sept. 29, 2017, at his residence.
Born in Mahoningtown on Jan. 19, 1930, Robert was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha Yocabel Lepore. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, the former Helen Martello, whom he married in 1955.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country during the Korean War era.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
Robert retired from the CSX Railroad, where he had worked as a conductor. At different times, Robert had owned several local taverns, Father To Son Mahoning Cafe; Tommy's Lounge; Towne and Country Lounge; Liberty Hotel and Lounge; and the Parasail Lounge.
In addition to his wife, Helen, Robert is survived by his children, Roseanne Hilke, Elena Lepore, Christopher Lepore and Antonio Lepore, all of New Castle; his brother, William Lepore of Maryland; sisters, Helen Colucci and Anna Lepore Conti, both of New Castle; his grandchildren, Heather Micco and husband John, John Paul Million and wife Mary, Randi Daugherty-Lepore, Rocco Million, Michael Lepore and wife Anne, Bobby Hilke, Thomas Lepore, Rian Lepore, Aleah Lepore, Rakail Lepore and Joseph Lepore; 10 great-grandchildren; and his dog, Marley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert J. Lepore; a daughter, Kathy A. Dougherty; his brother, Joseph Lepore; and his sister, Jane Schwartz.
Per Robert's wishes, there are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church, officiated by Rev. Father Zack Galiyas.
Burial is in St. Lucy Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be mailed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
