Ronald R. Stelter, 83, of West Pittsburg passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital following a brief illness.
Born on Dec. 16, 1933, in Shenango Township, he was a son of the late Fred D. and Virginia Bowden Stelter.
He was married for 56 years to Rita R. Atkinson Stelter, who passed away on Dec. 1, 2010.
Ron graduated from Shenango High School.
A veteran of the Air Force, he served during the Korean War.
Ron retired from UPS in 1996, where he was a delivery driver.
He was a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church and the Croatian Society in West Pittsburg. He was also a member of the Chewton Polish White Eagles, where he played on the pool team and was a member of its golf league. Ron was an avid and accomplished pool player and golfer.
Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda (Terry) Gricks of New Castle; two sons, Steve (Cindy Barber) Stelter of Mt. Jackson and Kenneth Stelter of West Pittsburg; a sister, Dolores Cox of Pulaski; a brother, Fred (Florence) Stelter of Wampum; four grandchildren, Penny (John) Medve, Kevin Stelter, Brandon (Shawna) Stelter and Cassandra Stelter; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Richard.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Savannah United Methodist Church. His pastor, the Rev. Michael E. Long will officiate the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
