Theodore J. Majocha, 97, of New Castle passed away the morning of May 3, 2017, at Rhodes Estates.
Born on Feb. 4, 1920, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Anna Rybka. On July 12, 1945, he married his beloved wife, the former Madeline M. Lombardo, and the two of them spent over 51 wonderful years together until she preceded him in death on Jan. 16, 1997.
Ted retired as a custodian for the Lawrence County Courthouse after many years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. Ted enjoyed fishing, and he also loved to travel and spend time with his daughter and wife until they passed away.
He was an Army veteran, who served during World War II.
Ted is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and close friends who were like family to him. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Jean Majocha; brothers, Pat, Bruno and Stanley Majocka Sr.; and sister, Wanda Cole.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. Blessing services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Father Joseph Codori. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
