Theresa C. Mastren, 82, of New Castle passed away the evening of Friday, March 10, 2017, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Born on Aug. 14, 1934, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Rose Rozzi.
Surviving at home is her beloved husband of 55 years, August Mastren, whom she married on Aug. 5, 1961.
After 30 years of working, Theresa retired as a lab technician and director for St. Francis Hospital.
She earned her bachelor's degree from Geneva College in 1977.
She belonged to the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Theresa formerly served as a Eucharistic minister for St. Vitus Church.
She enjoyed cooking and reading books, especially religious books.
In addition to her husband, Theresa is survived by her godson, Robert John Mastren and his wife, Stacy, of New Castle; her brother-in-law, Floyd Mastren of New Castle; her sister-in-law, Helen Janis and her husband, John, of Cortland, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Tony, Patsy, Peter, James and John Rozzi.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Blessing services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Joseph Codori.
Entombment will take place in Resurrection Mausoleum.
