Thomas C. Glitch, 86, of New Castle passed away July 26, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born Jan. 6, 1931, in New Castle, he was the son of Alvey and Mary Black Glitch. He married Shirley Betker Glitch on May 11, 1960. She survives.
Thomas served in the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard and Army Reserves for 17 years. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as an Electronic Technician for 27 years until his retirement in 1990.
He enjoyed gardening, tropical fish and crossword puzzles.
Thomas was a member of First Assembly of God Church, where he served as an Elder, Official Member of the Board, and Commander in Royal Rangers.
In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Moss of Seattle, Washington, Beverly (Frazer) Scott of New Castle and Rebecca (David) Fox of Butler; one brother, Lewis Glitch of New Castle; one sister, Betty Dilks of Girard, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Jamin Klingensmith, Andrew Klingensmith, Vaughan Moss, Nolan Fox, Jae-Analyn Charles, Allison Fox and Evie Fox; and two great-grandchildren, Ayvre Klingensmith and Kayden Hainley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Florence Klenotic and Helen Ringer.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 2021 Pulaski Road, New Castle. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 6 p.m. with Pastor Chad Stoecker and Layman David Fox officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
