Winifred R. Manzo, 85, of Wampum, finally free of the pain she suffered with for years, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Rochester Manor following a long-term illness.
Born on Oct. 23, 1931, in Wampum, she was a daughter of the late James Kirkwood and Helen Nagel Kirkwood.
She was a member of Wampum Methodist Church and a former member of St. Monica's in Wampum.
She was last employed at the Airway Luggage Co.
She graduated from Wampum High School.
She enjoyed word search books. Her most treasured time was spent with family.
Survivors include three daughters, Patty (Chuck) Shoemaker of Chippewa, Debby (Cliff) Ziegler of Somerset and Linda (Scott) Creed of Imperial, Pennsylvania; brother, John (Joanne) Kirkwood of Wampum; seven grandchildren, Kristy Reitz, Brian and Eric Shoemaker, Chad and Brett Zeigler, Chelsey Miller, and Amber Creed; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William "Punzo" Manzo, who passed in 2009; her parents; her brothers, James, Bob, Eugene and Walter; and two sisters, Delores Talley, and Tippy LaPenta.
Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St., Wampum.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Marshall Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Davis officiating.
Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
