New Castle, PA - Alice M. Ostrowski, 96, formerly of Hanna Street, passed away the morning of Oct. 1, 2025, at Avalon Care Center.

Alice was born April 15, 1929, in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Mielcuszny) Grzebieniak. Alice married John R. Ostrowski on Oct. 4, 1952. They were married for 36 years. He preceded her in death June 3, 1987. Mrs. Ostrowski was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish.

Alice was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1947.

Mrs. Ostrowski will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Alice also worked outside the home as a secretary at the former Shenango China company.

She enjoyed cooking for her family, was a founding member of the Altar Society, secretary of the Polish Society of Lawrence County, member of the (PNA) and a former member of Ss. Philip and James Church.

Alice is survived by her six children, Joan (John) Pawlukiewicz of Flat Rock, Michigan, Pauline Ostrowski of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Patrick J. (Diane) Ostrowski of New Castle, Joseph J. (Laura) Ostrowski of New Castle, Nancy (Byron) Pappas of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Mark A. (Lori) Ostrowski of New Castle; brother, John (Mary) Grzebieniak of New Castle; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ostrowski was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Ostrowski; and sister, Irene Savaet.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle PA. 16101.

A procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for Holy Spirit Parish-St. Vitus site, where a Mass of Christian burial and Rite of Committal will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Rev. Aaron Kriss, parochial vicar of Holy Spirit Parish, will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
