Alveraldo R. Sperdute Obituary

Alveraldo Roger Sperdute, 81, of Kildoo Road, New Castle, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.

He was born March 21, 1937, in New Castle, a son of the late Felix and Julia (Innocenti) Sperdute.

He was married to Dorothy (Stram) Sperdute on July 28, 1960. She survives in New Castle.

Mr. Sperdute was a farmer for more than 60 years at Sperdute Farms, selling produce.

He enjoyed cutting wood and owned and operated a saw mill for a number of years. He also enjoyed collecting Lionel model trains and loved farming.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Steven Sperdute and his wife, Susan, of New Castle, and David Sperdute and his wife, Nicole, of New Castle; a brother, Felix Sperdute of New Castle; four grandchildren Michael Sperdute and wife, Kasey, Jessica Sperdute, Daniel Sperdute and Emily Sperdute; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jacob Sperdute.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, James and Romeo Sperdute; and two sisters, Mary Ashton and Elaine George.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave.

Blessing services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. The Rev. William Siple will be officiating.

Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity in Al's memory.
