Amanda Jean Allen, 36, of New Castle passed away the morning of December 6, 2016, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born in Iowa City, Iowa, on October 25, 1980, she was a daughter of Timothy Van Brogen of Iowa and Catherine Hendricks of Arizona.

On October 13, 2000, she married Shawn Allen. He survives her at home in New Castle.

Amanda was a graduate of Rhema Christian Academy, New Wilmington. She was a homemaker who loved her husband, kids, dogs, camping, quads, motorcycles and billiards. She belonged to a billiards league. She also loved white tigers, dolphins, butterflies and the color purple.

Besides her husband and parents, Amanda is survived by three sons, Robert Blake, Brandon Michael and Dakota James Allen of New Castle; a stepmother, Cheryl Van Brogen; her maternal grandparents, William and Charlotte Mabe Hendricks; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harry L. and Cynthia Aeschbacher Allen; seven uncles; and four aunts.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Donald and Jeanette Van Brogen.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, Pa.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Cypher officiating.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
