New Castle, PA - Amanda Nicole Taylor, 38, of Pulaski, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, surrounded by loving family.
She was born Nov. 8, 1986, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to Valerie Jones Taylor and Robert Taylor. She grew up in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Lawrence County Vo Tech in 2005 from the Medical Office Administrative Assistant Program. And then went to BC3, where she got a degree in accounting in 2023.
Amanda was a beautiful soul who loved to help everyone and anyone she could. She had a special love for her fur babies, Callie, Kylie, Abby, Ella, Lucy and Gypsy.
Amanda was a very hard worker, first starting at Hickory Speedway selling programs then to Sharon Speedway doing the transponders and then working the scales. She also sold pictures at Sharon Speedway for Balentine Photos. She then started at Italian Take Out in New Bedford, Pennsylvania. She also worked at Liberty Mutual, Sharon Hospital and Mercer County Head Start in their accounting department.
Amanda's love for helping others, along with her paternal great-grandfather and father, steered her to join the Pulaski Township Volunteer Fire Department as a fourth-generation member, where she joined as a junior member but served EMS for several years, being voted as an EMS chief for a year.
Amanda is survived by her parents, Valerie Jones Taylor and Robert Taylor; her younger brother Kyle Taylor; fiancé Randy Courson; her grandmother Janet Twigg; Haley Courson; and daughters, Delaney and Caroline Blake, Taylor (Ogunade) Sunky; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and her best friend, Kayla Doherty.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jim and Mary Jones; paternal grandfather Robert Dale Taylor Sr. and Larry Twigg; her maternal uncles Jim Jones and Casey Jones and paternal great-grandparents Margret Taylor, Ruby and Reed Bish.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. A memorial service will follow on Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Bill Beck.
