State College, PA - Angeline "Angie" Navarra, 87, a longtime resident of New Castle, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, Oct, 7, 2025, at Centre Care Nursing Home, Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.

Angie was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Nea Fokea, Chalkidiki, Greece, a daughter of the late Giorgos and Koula (Ingiannis) Kampakis.

As a young woman, Angie immigrated to the United States and later became a naturalized citizen in 1974.

For many years, she worked as a waitress and cook at Hazel's Restaurant in New Castle, where she was beloved by both patrons and coworkers alike. She previously worked in the same capacity at Towne House Restaurant, also in New Castle.

Angie was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Neshannock Township.

A devoted mother and grandmother, she was happiest when caring for others, especially while cooking for them.

Angie is survived by her son, Steven Navarra (April), State College, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Adam and Autumn Navarra; and several nieces and nephews in Greece.

In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by her son, Mark Navarra; two sisters, Despina and Eleni; and two brothers, Tasos and Andreas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 315 W. Englewood Ave., New Castle, PA 16105.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday (10-9-25) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle; and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday (10-10-25) in St. George Greek Orthodox Church.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday (10-10-25) in St. George, with Fr. Photios Dickos officiating.

Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Union Township.
