Former New Castle resident Anthony R. Antonio, 76, of Bellevue, Neb., died July 24, 2007, in Hospice House, Omaha, Neb. He was born June 13, 1931, in Columbus, Ohio. His wife, Rose Antonio, survives. A retired Air Force senior master sergeant, he had served in the Vietnam and Korean war eras. Mr. Antonio was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Bellevue. In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Scott Christensen of Omaha; a daughter-in-law, Sally Cole of Oklahoma City; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Linda Antonio of Omaha; nine grandchildren, Jillian, Joey, Andrew, Sara, Lauren, Anna, Mark, Karlee and Kelly; one great-grandchild, Dylan; and numerous loving family members and friends. His kind and generous spirit will be missed. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark; a grandson, Robert; a brother, Eddie; and two sisters, Eleanor Antonio and Eda Sellan. Visitation took place in Omaha. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated yesterday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Bellevue. Full military rites were provided by the Offut Air Force Base Military Honor Guard. Entombment was in Resurrection Mausoleum in Omaha.
