Anthony J. Carnuche, 85, of 1604 Hanna St. passed away the morning of Jan. 15, 2025, with his family by his side.

Anthony was born April 21, 1939, in New Castle. He was the son of the late William and Teresa (Vitelli) Carnuche.

Anthony was married to the former Georgetta A. DeVasil. They were married Nov. 5, 1964, for the past 60 years. She survives at home.

Anthony was Roman Catholic.

Anthony attended New Castle High School.

Mr. Carnuche enlisted in the United States Army on Jan. 31, 1962. Mr. Carnuche was honorably discharged on Jan. 30, 1964.

Anthony retired after 29 years of service as a conductor with CSX-Railroad Company.

Anthony was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening.

He was a member of the retired railroad, Smart TD Alumni Association, and a member of American Legion Post 343.

His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he lived for.

In addition to his wife, Georgetta, Anthony is survived by three children, Cathy (Richard) Uram of Toledo, Ohio, Anthony G. (Renee) Carnuche of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Teresa A. (Roger) Savor of New Castle; brother, William V. Carnuche of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren, Scott (Craig) Uram, Brittany (fiancé Marty) Uram, Zachary (fiancée Jill) Uram, Megan (fiancé Vince) Carnuche, Caitlin Carnuche, Anthony J. Carnuche, Abigail Savor and Roger Savor Jr.

Mr. Carnuche was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Joseph Carnuche and John Vitelli.

Following Anthony's wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date, along with the New Castle Area Honor Guard conducting military rites for him.
