New Beaver Borough, PA - Arthur R. "Butch" Newton, 80, of New Beaver Borough passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Sunnyview Nursing Rehab.
Born Dec. 6, 1944, in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Wilbur Russell "Jim" and Mary Nulph Newton.
He was married to Betty Jean Funkhouser Newton for 44 years until she passed away May 21, 2011.
Butch worked as a millwright at B&W in Beaver Falls and later at Koppel until his retirement.
Following his retirement, he founded Newton's Guns, which he operated for 20 years.
He was affiliated with the Wampum Presbyterian Church and a former Scout Master and baseball coach in Wampum. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Mahoning Sportsman's Club, a lifetime member of the Ellwood Wampum Rod & Gun Club, and a lifetime member of the NRA.
He is survived by his son, Robert D. (Sheila) Newton of Williamson, Georgia; and granddaughter, Mikayla Newton of Gay, Georgia.
Visiting hours will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday July 5, 2025, at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St., Wampum.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2025, with Rev. Elizabeth Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wampum Presbyterian Church.
