Greenville - Barbara Jean Cummings, 88, of St. Paul Home, Greenville, and formerly of Springfield Township, Mercer County, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026, at St. Paul Home.

Barb was born in Springfield Township, Mercer County, on July 24, 1937, to Clarence R. "Skip" Drake and Vera G. Stitt Drake.

She married Robert L. Cummings on Oct. 25, 1963, and he preceded her in death May 22, 1998.

Barb was a member of the Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church, where she served as a member of the deacons and was Sunday school treasurer for 50 years.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Mercer Chapter #186.

For many years, Barb served as the Springfield Township tax collector for real estate and wage tax.

She is survived by her son, Kevin (Joy) Cummings of Ephrata, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, Nathan (Carlin), Theresa, Kelly; great-grandson, Connor Cummings; and brother, William Drake of Transfer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

There will be a funeral service for Barb at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026,at the Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church, led by Pastor Jason Schepp. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the Smith Funeral Home, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant, then at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment in Leesburg Cemetery.
