New Castle - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara Kraner, 69, who passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born Oct. 22, 1956, Barb was the middle child of Harry C. and Barbara A. Kraner. Barb was raised with strong values and compassion that she carried with her throughout her life.
All who knew her understood her compassion for children. She often spent her weekends with grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Known for her warmth, humor and generosity, Barb touched the lives of many with kindness and compassion. If that didn't work, she would serve you some of her exemplary cookies. She was truly a master baker.
Barbara is survived by a son, Kevin Kraner, and grandson Xavier, as well as her daughter, TiYonda; brothers; a granddaughter, Jadeya; along with three grandsons, Jason, Tommy and Michael, who will forever cherish the memories and lessons shared.
Barb had a special place in her heart for Julian Gates, whom she raised as her own.
Also surviving are five sisters, Ann Marie Grimm, Kathy Hudak, Faith Kraner, Audrey Merck and Kimberly Bleakney. Their legacy of love, strength and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew them.
Services are being handled by William F. DeCarbo & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to local food banks, honoring Barb's commitment to helping others.
Barbara will be dearly missed, forever remembered and always loved.
A Celebration of Life will be officiated by Pastor Waters.
Family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Fresh Wind Ministry, 2009 N. Mercer St., New Castle, PA, 16105, formerly known as Victory.
