New Castle, PA - Bernard "Bernie" Pagliaro of New Castle passed away Aug. 27, 2025 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born in New Castle on Dec. 31, 1954, Bernie was the son of the late Vincent & Mary Squeglia Pagliaro.
Bernie was a graduate of Vo-Tech High School. He then worked for Jameson Hospital in the engineering department for 43 years.
One of Bernie's favorite things to do was sitting on his front porch swing, watching the neighborhood go by. His other favorite activity was placing flags on veterans' graves for Memorial Day. This was something that had been passed down to him by his uncle, Tony Pagliaro. Bernie had been helping/leading this project for the past 55 years. He was always willing to help anyone in need.
In addition to his wife, Betty, Bernie is survived by his son, Ben and his sister, Virginia (Ginny) Pagliaro and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by his brother, Louis.
A memorial service will be held for Bernie on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at 12 p.m. at the Union Township Fire Hall, 304 S. Scotland Lane. Rev. Richard Nero will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
