Beth Ann Adams, 65, of Lake Road, Volant, died the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Countryside Nursing Home of Mercer. Beth Ann was born in East Springfield, Pa., on March 10, 1950, to the late Kenneth B. and Florence Lydia Brown Ruland. She married James Lawrence Adams on June 21, 1975, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2011. She married James Lawrence Adams on June 21, 1975, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2011. She was a homemaker and formerly taught elementary school. She was a member of the East Brook United Methodist Church. Beth Ann enjoyed playing cards, quilting, making doll clothes and she loved children. Survivors include a son, Jay L. Adams and his wife, Lynn, of Canton, Ohio; two brothers, Clifford "Slim" Ruland and Paul "Pete" Ruland; five sisters, Leila "Polly" Olsen, Bonnie "Cherry" Applebee, Nancy "Pudge" Walker, Marian "Chum" Wheeler and Martha "Lou" Forysthe; and many neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Edward "Ike" Ruland, Leslie "Bud" Ruland, David Jess Ruland, Larry "Mike" Ruland and Earl Dennis Ruland; and a sister, Ethel "Toots" Zenk. There will be a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the East Brook United Methodist Church. The Rev. Loren McQueen will officiate. Interment will be in Volant Cemetery.
