Brian E. Akins, 50, of Shenango Township passed away the evening of July 13, 2020, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Born on Jan. 20, 1970, in Buffalo, New York, he was a son of Melvin Akins Sr., who survives, and the late Barbara Johns Akins.
Brian worked as a laborer.
Brian loved the outdoors, going fishing and camping. He enjoyed playing video games.
Brian's greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends.
In addition to his father, Brian is survived by his brothers, Melvin, Kenny, Steve (Amy), Scotty, Donny (Erika) and Mark (Autumn) Akins, and Timmy Hensel; his sisters, Brenda Akins and Vickie (William) Helmuth; and 16 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Brian was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Hensel.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC guidelines regarding the wearing of face masks and using social distancing.
A service will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Joe Zingaro will officiate.
Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
