Carl A. Ambuster, 73, of New Castle passed away the morning of Sept.. 5, 2021, at his residence.

Carl was born in New Castle on Feb. 2, 1948. He was preceded in death by his father, Sylves-ter Ambuster. His mother, Doris Schlumberger Ambuster, survives in New Castle.

On Oct. 8, 1994, Carl married his beloved wife, the former Cindy Tomlinson. She survives at home.

Carl had worked for Shenango China for 20 years. He then worked as an electrical technician for 30 years for the United States Postal Service until he retired. After retirement he worked for Zambelli Fireworks International.

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Carl was an avid golfer. He enjoyed playing cards and watching sports on television.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, his greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by his children, Michael Ambuster of New Castle, Robert Ambuster of New Castle, Daniel Ambuster of Chalfont, Pennsylvania, Tammy Wheeler of Mount Washington, Kentucky, James Crans of New Castle, Vincent Crans of New Castle and Jesse Ambuster of New Castle; three brothers, David Ambuster of Michigan, Randy Ambuster of Texas and Charles Ambuster of Georgia; one sister, Ellen Hower of Texas; his former wife, Bonnie Bechtol of New Castle; and 15 grandchildren.

In addition to his father, Carl was preceded in death by two uncles, George Schlumberger and Gerhart Schlumberger.

Honoring his wishes, there are no calling hours. Everyone is welcome to attend a Celebration of Life to be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, 43 S. Jefferson St., New Castle, Pa. 16101.
