New Castle, PA - Carl Conrad Cwynar, born Feb. 14, 1946, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away April 19, 2025, in his hometown at the age of 79.

He joins his beloved wife, Wilma, in eternal rest.

Carl leaves behind brother, Ron; children, Carla Anderson (Jeremy) and James Cwynar (Francesca); as well as grandsons, Anthony and Christopher Anderson, and Jameson Cwynar.

In addition to his beloved wife, Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Cecelia Cwynar; and his brother, Raymond.

Carl was a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked in the trucking industry for Pitt-Ohio, among other companies.

He and his wife, Wilma, raised their children in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

Carl was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, enjoyed woodworking, painting and reading, and collected tin toys and stamps. He enjoyed frequenting the casino, enjoying Coney Island with his wife, and celebrating the triumphs of his family. In his later years, he enjoyed bingo, game shows, calling loved ones on FaceTime and taking walks around his home.

Carl was a gentle and kind soul and was very proud of his family. He will be sincerely missed.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 941 S. Mill St. The New Castle Honor Guard will conduct military rites at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at HSP - St. Mary's. Committal will be at Ss. Philip and James Cemetery.
