New Castle - Carol R. Adams, 93, formerly of Johnson Street in Union Township, died Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Avalon Nursing Center in New Castle.
She was born Feb. 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Abraham and Jamila Rashid.
She was married to the late Richard F. Adams, who died July 16, 2024.
Mrs. Adams worked for Rockwell Axle, Hahn's Bakery, Eckerd's Drugs, then retired from the University of Alabama.
She enjoyed reading, shopping, Facebook, McDonald's hamburgers and doing puzzles and painting pictures on her iPad.
She is survived by four children, Richard "Rick" F. Adams Jr. and his wife, Debra, of Simi Valley, California, Kimberly A. Tanner and Lory A. Hiler both of New Castle and Kelly A. Meggs and her husband of North Port, Alabama; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, William "Bill" Tanner; two brothers, Carl Rashid and Baby Boy Kelly Rashid; and three sisters, Lorice Rashid, Pauline Sheban and Ida Hilton.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Holy Spirit Parish-St. Mary Church, 124 N. Beaver St. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 a.m.
