Catherine Leone "Cathy" Rice Allen, 65, of New Castle, formerly of Leesburg, passed away on Friday, Jan. 5 2018, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.

She was born in Grove City on Aug. 28, 1952, to Donald Arden and Catherine Louise Beckert Rice.

She graduated from Grove City High School.

She married Delbert Edmond Allen Jr. on Oct. 6, 1973.

She worked as a nurse's aid at various nursing homes in the local area.

In addition to her husband at home, survivors include her daughter, Jennifer L. Allen; her son, Craig E. Allen, both of New Castle; her sister, Mary E. Bowlin of Freeport, Pennsylvania; three brothers, Donald J. Rice (Diane) of Volant; R. David Rice of Duarte, California, and Lewis J. Rice (Terry) of Columbia Station, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 3439 Ellwood Road, New Castle.

Interment will be in Carpenter Cemetery, Springfield Township, Pennsylvania.
