Chrystle V. Altman, 79, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Avalon Nursing Center.

Born in New Castle on Jan. 30, 1937, she was a daughter of Edgar and Hanna Mitchell Stroud.

She was married to David Ronald Altman, whom survives her at home.

Chris, often called "Chrissy," loved caring for her home and family, reading her Bible, going to church and helping those in need.

She was employed as a secretary at Rockwell International for five years and at First Assembly of God Church for 25 years.

She was also a devoted and active member of First Assembly of God.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son and his wife, David and Amy Altman; and a brother and his wife, Don and Joanne Stroud of Powhatan, Virginia.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Clinton and Edgar Stroud; and a sister, Eleanor Kumrow.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Eric Park officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
