New Castle, PA - Clarence L. Rice, 72, of New Castle went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, at Jameson Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was born Dec. 30, 1952, the son of the late Gad and Lois Taylor.
Clarence Rice was the pastor of the former Ray Street Tabernacle and Grace Christian Church. He also taught in Bible schools in Long Island, New York, Rochester, Pennsylvania, and Hopewell, Pennsylvania.
Clarence was a lover of the word of God, and was a loving husband and father.
He served in the United States Navy during peacetime.
He also loved his cats, Smokey and Squakers.
Clarence is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Rice, to whom he was wed Aug. 25, 1979; his children, Rachael Lynn Rice and Brian Andrew Rice; his sister, Darlene McCloskey; niece, Kathy Ann Bice, and her husband, Jim Bice; nephew, Joe McCloskey, and his wife, Sarah; his great-nieces, Kristen Ann Smith, Brittany Smith, Hannah Bice, Chastity McCloskey; and great-nephew, Zackary McCloskey.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at noon at Life Changing Ministries; 2929 Mercer Road, New Castle, PA 16105. There will be a reception and fellowship afterwards.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
