Volant - Darlene Wagner Kapcewich of Volant, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, passed away Aug. 3, 2026, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was 66 years old.

She was born April 11, 1960, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to the late Carl and Jean Oakes Wagner.

She married David Kapcewich on Sept. 19, 1981, and was the postmaster at the West Middlesex Post Office at the time of her death.

Darlene was a graduate of Wilmington High School and was an active member of the Volant Global Methodist Church.

She loved to travel, and most important to her was her family.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a son, Phillip (Angela) Kapcewich of Volant; a daughter, Dana Kapcewich of Cleveland, Ohio; one sister, Sharon Carter; six brothers, Carl (Dorene) Wagner, Tom Wagner, Raymond (Christine) Wagner, Ronald (Tina) Wagner, Robert (Jodi) Wagner and Rusty Wagner; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Jay Wagner; and a nephew, David Jay Wagner Jr.

Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, at The Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, PA. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Volant United Methodist Church, state Route 208, Volant, PA, with Rev. Frank Hodges, officiating.

Interment will follow at Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.
