David L. "Uncle Dave" Amodie, 76, of 2638 Old Butler Road passed away the morning of Jan. 20, 2018, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

David was born on March 28, 1941, in New Castle. He was the son of the late Italo and Agnes Costello Amodie.

David was married to the former Connie K. Krueger. She survives at home. They were married for 14 years.

Mr. Amodie was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1959.

Mr. Amodie continued his education graduating from Slippery Rock University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education and followed with a Master's Degree in Education from Westminster College.

He worked for more than 30 years teaching in the New Castle Area School District.

David enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to flea markets and garage sales.

In addition to his wife Connie, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Wes) Diaz-Delgado of Anna, Ohio, and Laura (Joe) DeCristoforo of Cranberry Township; three stepdaughters, Christie (Randy) Robinson, Barbara Pursell and Jamie Pursell, all of New Castle; two brothers, Guy (Betty) Amodie and Thomas (Janice) Amodie, both of New Castle; twin sister, JoEllen Reilly of Rochester, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Amodie was preceded in death by his parents.

Following his wishes, there will be no calling hours or service. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle, Pa.
