David Lyle Latimer, 77, of Wynfield Lane, New Wilmington, died on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the Overlook Medical Clinic, New Wilmington.

He was born in New Castle on Sept, 12, 1938, to the late Vane Presley and Frieda Weston Latimer.

Mr. Latimer married the former Beverly Ann Grassell on Feb. 23, 1991. She survives at the residence.

He was a self-employed contractor and a former member of the Leesburg Presbyterian Church.

He was a graduate of Wilmington High School and was a member of the Lodge of the Craft in New Castle.

David served his county in the Army.

In addition to his wife, Beverly, he is survived by three sons, Bryan D. (Pam) Latimer of Santee, California, Douglas W. (Bobbilyn) Latimer of Volant and Bradley T. (Sheri) Latimer of Mercer; a sister, Joyce (Roger) Powers of Maryland; a brother, Thomas (Claudia) Latimer of Washington state; two stepdaughters, Lori Steller and Linda (Bill) Kaufman; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his wife, the former Joyce McConnell, in 1990; an infant son, Donald; and a sister, Patricia Davidson.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. August Hurst of Lebanon Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Interment will follow at Rich Hill Cemetery, Volant.
